From Father Frank
Fr Frank Bermingham
Greetings to all
As we begin a new year, it is time for us to reflect on our Christian way of life. Since my arrival here in February of 2009, I have been very impressed with the community spirit of the people of both Parishes. Parish groups and organisations are numerous. Each group not only care for their particular needs, but are conscious of belonging to the wider parish community. This was evident at the wonderful celebrations Masses which took place on the Feast of Christ the King on 22nd November
I do hope that everybody feels a sense of belonging within our Parish communities. We are a People of Hope; we are Disciples of Christ. As a people of hope, we look to the future, but we hope in the present. The past has gone, the future has not yet come, we live in the present. To be a Disciple of Christ is something beautiful for God. It means imitating the life of Christ in all that we do and say; or trying to do our best to follow the ways of Christ
We live in a changing world, but the ways of the so called modern world ought not to prevent us from proclaiming Christ to the world. It is important to remember that the ways of the Lord will win out in the end. As St Paul says; “with God on our side who can be against us
I am very happy to be your Parish Priest and it is wonderful to be able to exercise the Priestly ministry in the midst of caring people
God bless you all as we continue our Journey in Faith together
